Finding A Better Pair of Contact Lenses

About Repair Issues And Your Eye-Wear

by Luukas Harju

When you have to wear prescription lenses in order to improve your vision, you will likely become dependent on them. Aside from making it easier for you to see, you may even be required to wear your prescription lenses in order to operate a motor vehicle. No matter what it is that you wear your prescription lenses for or how serious your vision issues are, you want your prescription lenses to be in good condition. There are a lot of things that can happen to them that can make them harder to wear or even make it so you aren't able to wear them at all. You can learn more about optical product repairs and why they are so important here.

The lenses of your eyeglasses are scratched

If you have scratches on your eyeglasses, then this can make it very hard for you to see out of them. If there are only minor scratches on the lenses, then it can be irritating to look out the lenses. However, if there is a lot of scratching to them, then the lenses can be foggy to see out of, and it can be so bad that it can make it hard for you to see and dangerous for you to drive a vehicle. If your lenses get scratched, then the scratches may be able to be removed without the need for you to have the lenses replaced, which can cost more in the way of both time and money. They might be able to be buffed out with the use of a special polish.

Your frames break

Any part of your frames can break. However, most commonly it is the nose pad or the arm of the frame that snaps off. If this is the case, then the frames can likely be repaired. If you are told that you would be better off just replacing the frame due to the type of damages, then the lenses may fit into another pair the optometrist has on hand already. If not, they can order you replacement frames and your same lenses can be put right in them.

A lens breaks

If one of the lenses breaks, then this will create a serious issue. Not only won't you be able to see right out of the glasses, but it won't even be advisable for you to wear them at all until the lens has been replaced. Wearing your glasses with only one lens can cause you to suffer from headaches because one of your eyes will work too hard trying to keep up with the other. As long as there is no damage to the frame, then the lens can be easily replaced into the same frame.
